history in the making

I just think, no matter what happens, that it is awesome that the results of today's election could be one of many firsts. The oldest man, the first woman vice president, and I think most importantly, the first black man elected President of the United States of America.

I am so grateful to be a part of this history, to be able to say that I voted for either the oldest man, or the first black man (ha you thought I was going to tell you which one didn't you! :) I am especially excited because I am going to the Obama Election Rally tonight in Grant Park in Chicago, an event that sold out a few hours after it was announced. I can't believe how lucky I am to be a part of that event (although of course I can't assume anything just yet...) And while I know it'll be crazy, crowds will be huge and there is more than a slight possibility that I will be trampled on, I wouldn't miss it for the world. This is something that will definitely go down in history, and something that my children and grandchildren will ask me about one day and I will be proud to admit I was there.
