First I chopped up an actual pumpkin. A really, really, really large orange pumpkin for $2 from Aldi. I don't really know what possessed me to do this - but once I started I was determined to chop up that entire pumpkin. And I did. Of course, I threw most of it away [correction - composted most of it] when I was done, but I am pretty proud of the fact that I did, indeed, chop up a pumpkin.
When I was home for Thanksgiving my family [well, the females among us] made some adorable fabric pumpkins to be our Thanksgiving table centerpiece. I found the DIY courtesy of the folks over at design*sponge. They really were very easy to make and made a festive, unique addition to our table.
For these fabric pumpkins, I bought the scrap squares of fabric at Wal-Mart and used yarn I already had. It was quite a fun & crafty Thanksgiving morning, watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade and making the centerpiece. I'm looking for creative Christmas centerpiece ideas. Suggestions are always welcome!

You also almost chopped your finger off. Don't forget that part...
